VOLTS UK PRIVACY NOTICE
Your details.
Your enquiry.
How we use personal information when you contact us, book a repair or buy from Volts UK.
Who is responsible?
Volts UK is the trading name of Zdeněk Bergl, 62 Aylesbury Street, Fenny Stratford, Milton Keynes MK2 2BA. Contact us at info@voltsuk.com or 01908 642300 about your personal information.
What information we collect
When you enquire, we collect your name, phone number, email address if you give one, and details of your device and the problem. For repairs and sales, our records may include your contact details, device, fault, work carried out, quotes, invoices and payments. For website and advertising enquiries, this may also include your business or project name, existing website, budget and what you would like us to create or manage.
If you choose to tell us how you heard about us, we use this to understand where enquiries come from.
For home visits, we also need the visit address. For remote support, we collect the details needed to connect to your device, with your permission.
Your device and files
We only access what we need to diagnose and fix the fault. We do not copy or keep your files unless you ask us to, for example as part of data recovery. Where possible, please back up important files before bringing your device in.
Why we use your information
We use enquiry details to reply and prepare quotes as steps before entering a contract. We use information needed for repairs and sales to carry out our contract with you. We keep tax and VAT records to meet our legal obligations.
We rely on our legitimate interests to use relevant information for guarantee claims, complaints and the security of our business.
Who we share information with
Where needed to provide our services, we share relevant information with our website host, email provider, card payment provider SumUp, accountant, and parts suppliers or couriers involved in a repair.
When you ask us to arrange data recovery, we may share your device and relevant information with specialist data recovery partners.
Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, the processing is covered by the legal safeguards required for international transfers.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiries that do not become a job for up to 12 months. We keep repair and invoice records for six years.
Marketing and cookies
We do not send marketing without your consent. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Essential WordPress cookies may be used when staff sign in to manage the website. Temporary security checks help protect our enquiry forms against spam.
